Requirements
To qualify for a Trainee Bakery Manager position, you will typically need:
- Matric / Grade 12 (required)
- Qualified Baker certification (required)
- At least 2 years of experience in a bakery or food production environment
- Supervisory experience (advantageous but not required)

Job Responsibilities
Operations and Production Management
- Plan, coordinate, and manage daily, weekly, and monthly bakery production
- Ensure all products meet quality, consistency, and freshness standards
- Maintain high levels of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety in all work areas
- Ensure all processes and procedures are followed correctly
Stock and Resource Management
- Manage stock levels to support production while minimizing shortages
- Order and control inventory efficiently to reduce waste
- Prevent shrinkage, damages, and product losses
- Ensure all resources are used effectively to maximise turnover
Financial and Cost Control
- Monitor and control departmental expenses
- Track performance against budgets and investigate any variances
- Analyse profitability and implement improvements where needed
- Support pricing and cost management processes
Team Management and Development
- Supervise and support bakery staff to maintain high performance
- Assist with staff scheduling, leave management, and daily operations
- Keep employees motivated and aligned with company standards
- Identify training needs and support staff development
Customer Service and Sales
- Interact with customers and provide product recommendations
- Ensure consistent product quality and service delivery
- Understand customer needs and provide suitable solutions
- Maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction
Administration and Reporting
- Complete administrative tasks accurately and on time
- Maintain and update records, reports, and documentation
- Monitor performance data and take corrective action when required
