Part-Time Sales Assistant – PEP (George Central, Western Cape)

Job Description

PEP is seeking a Part-Time Sales Assistant to join its George Central store. This role is suited to a friendly, energetic individual who enjoys working with customers and contributing to a positive, fast-paced retail environment.

Purpose of the Position

The Sales Assistant will support daily store operations by promoting sales, minimising stock losses, assisting customers, managing inventory, and operating the cash register, while upholding PEP’s low-cost culture and business standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers professionally upon entry

• Promote products and current in-store promotions

• Operate the cash register accurately and honestly

• Assist with stock receiving, organisation, and merchandising

• Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and security procedures

• Handle customer queries and resolve issues courteously

• Support the team in achieving sales targets

Minimum Requirements

• Matric

• Experience in retail, sales, cashiering, or customer service

• English communication skills

• Reside within 15 km of the store

• Clear criminal record

• Honest and trustworthy, especially when handling cash

Preferences (Advantageous)

• Passion for retail and customer service

• Ability to work shifts
